Fall Seven Times. Stand up Eight.
I have been working in the behavioral health and counseling fields for the past 29 years. I am one of the few private practice clinicians with an expertise in- and a willingness- to work with folks, with the most intrusive and unwanted experiences.
I work with those affected, and suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and psychosis related to schizophrenia, or substances such as marijuana.
Most recently I was featured in the documentary “Crazywise”- crazywisefilm.com. I was an advocate for needed changes in the treatment of mental illnesses in the United States.
I have experience as a counselor, manager, and a trainer in the private sector, and in community mental health program in Oregon, Missouri and Washington.
I have an M.S. from Southern Oregon University, and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. I’ve developed and taught post-divorce parenting programs. Throughout my career, I’ve spoken to thousands of individuals, via workshops, seminars on parenting, relationships, crisis intervention, and working with the mentally ill. I’ve taught Mental Health First Aid courses in Washington and in Hawaii.
I value living by the Japanese proverb “Fall Seven Times. Stand Up Eight”.
